The Land of Legends, located near Antalya, is one of the largest amusement parks in all of Turkey. I’ve had the opportunity to visit many such attractions and places designed to provide entertainment, but I’ve never seen anything quite like The Land of Legends. Everything here is geared towards ensuring you have a great time, regardless of age and preferences; literally everyone will find something for themselves.

In the article below, I’ll share my experiences and what this extraordinary amusement park has to offer, and whether it’s worth spending a considerable amount of money to visit it.

The Land of Legends what is this giant playground?

The Land of Legends river and gondolas

While travelling through southwestern Turkey, you’re bound to hear about The Land of Legends, a legendary theme park. It’s featured in nearly every guidebook, and advertisements adorn the streets and highways along the entire coast.

The park opened in 2016 and has been drawing immense interest from tourists visiting the southern part of Turkey ever since. Covering a whopping 620 square kilometres, almost all of its area is dedicated to entertainment.

The Land of Legends has garnered numerous prestigious awards over the years, including:

  • World Travel Awards 2017 as the Best Themed Park in Europe.
  • European Star Award 2018 as the Best Water Park in Europe.
  • World Travel Awards 2019 as the Best Luxury Themed Resort.
  • European Star Award 2019 for the Best Water Slides in Europe.
  • European Star Award 2020 for the Best Water Parks in Europe.
  • Leading Entertainment and Gastronomy Center in Europe, 2021.
  • Leading Hotel with Amusement Park in Europe 2021.

In addition, the park was awarded by numerous tourist portals and companies related to hotel and tourism:

  • Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2017.
  • Hermes Creative Awards in 2018.
  • Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award in 2020.
  • Booking.com Guest Review Awards in 2021.

Of course, all these awards mean nothing compared to your experience. Therefore, later in the article I will tell you what I saw and did in The Land of Legends park, and there is a lot of it.

The park near Antalya is essentially a combination of several diverse amusement parks merged into one complex. Its main feature is the luxurious Royal Hotel, surrounded by thematic amusement parks and a sprawling Shopping Avenue. It all resembles a vast city where at every turn, you’ll find something extraordinary and intriguing.

Throughout the area, special transportation is available. Colourful trains and various vehicles, all stylized according to the park’s themes, continuously circulate. On the streets, there are concerts, stalls offering elaborate food and drinks, and characters encouraging visits to specific parts of the park.

In the evenings, when the children’s amusement parks are closed, the surrounding restaurants and bars transform into romantic spots where you can enjoy candlelit moments. Music fills the air almost everywhere, and the abundance of lights and well-chosen decorations is immense, reminiscent of the streets of famous Las Vegas.

Hotels in The Land of Legends

The Land of Legends restaurant and café bar

The main and arguably the most luxurious hotel is the Royal Hotel. It offers 380 high-class rooms and 20 suites where supposedly nothing is lacking, and the staff will fulfil almost every wish of yours.

Of course, the hotel features bars and restaurants, including a kids’ bar where you can leave them in the care of the staff while you indulge in the local cuisine in peace. And there’s plenty to enjoy in the numerous restaurants, serving dishes from around the world prepared by excellent chefs.

But the happiest will be the children; they are the priority here. The hotel has play areas and pools dedicated to the little ones. Additionally, throughout the day, there are numerous animations and meetings with cartoon characters, and when they get bored with playing in the hotel, the largest amusement park in Turkey is literally right next door.

Of course, not everything is perfect, especially when crowds of tourists from all over the world pass through the hotel. Noise, hustle, and bustle can be tiring, and you might have to wait a bit in restaurants. So, I advise you to visit during the off-season when the number of people drops. Trust me, it’s a good tip.

Another downside of staying in a luxury hotel in a place like The Land of Legends is the room rates. A few days can cost even several thousand euros, and the upgraded versions almost twice as much. Well, either you can afford it or you can’t. Interestingly, this hotel always has full occupancy during the season, so if you’re interested, make your reservation well in advance. Oh, and watch out for kids who have constant access to free ice cream, drinks, and other sweets if you’ve opted for the all-inclusive package.

Another hotel that I, personally, recommend is Rxox Park Belek, located right on the beach. It doesn’t fall far behind the Royal Hotel, but is even three times cheaper. The place has several pools, and most importantly, access to a giant beach stretching hundreds of meters in each direction. Since this hotel is a bit further from the amusement park, buses and trains depart every few minutes throughout the day, taking you to the park gates in just a few minutes.

You’ll find numerous bars and restaurants in the hotel, including those under the open sky, where chefs will prepare the dish of your choice on the spot. It’s cool that there are also bars and restaurants right on the beach that you can enjoy all day, and some even at night.

There are plenty of smaller or larger hotels in the area, with varying prices and diverse offerings. If you take a moment to look, you’ll surely find something that suits you. Here’s a small request: if you discover any particularly interesting places, please write to us about them; we’ll gladly expand this article with the information you provide.

I recommend searching for accommodation on Booking.com, where very fascinating deals and discounts often appear.

The Land of Legends and the entertainment that awaits you there

Walking through the park, you get the feeling that it’s one enormous city, filled with shops, boutiques of well-known brands, and attractions for both children and adults.

The most popular part of the park is, of course, the area dedicated to amusement parks for children. Here, you’ll find a plethora of incredible, themed areas that will leave every child in awe. Each part of the park tells a different story and is related to popular characters from the world of children. Below, you’ll find what I consider the most fascinating lands in this rich world of entertainment.

Masha and the Bear from the land of laughter

Masha and the Bera

Masha and the Bear are characters from popular cartoons that supposedly all children adore. In The Land of Legends, you have the chance to take your little ones into their world. The choice of attractions is enormous, and there’s something happening here all day long. Circus performances take place, street games can be participated in on the promenades, and while strolling between attractions, you can encounter favourite characters.

Furthermore, there are several places well-known from Masha and the Bear cartoons, including:

  • Masha’s Fantastic House and the garden with a river for boat rides.
  • Zippy Zappy Coaster is a colourful roller coaster and a popular attraction for the youngest. They can ride a colourful locomotive on the diverse track.
  • Merry-go-round is a traditional old-style fun.
  • Happy Chairs is another colourful carousel that will surely delight the youngest.
  • Bear’s Hut is a large wooden building where you’ll find an interesting hidden playground with a rope park, and you can also conduct scientific experiments with the kids. A very cool place.
  • And finally, the circus, where funny performances take place. It’s the perfect place if you want to relax a bit.

Of course, these are just some attractions you will find in the land of Masha and the Bear, the rest you will have to look for yourself, or the kids will do it for you.

The Land of Adventure and Extreme Experiences, my favorite place in the entire park

Roller coaster AI

No amusement park is complete without huge, blood-curdling roller coasters and attractions that evoke screams and terror. The Land of Legends is no exception in this regard. So, what awaits you in the Adventure Land?

  • Hyper Coster is a huge, steel roller coaster standing at 62 meters tall, with its cars reaching speeds of over 110 kilometres per hour. While I’ve seen faster and larger rides before, this one doesn’t fall short, as its sudden changes in direction and sharp drops can elicit screams from anyone.
  • Typhoon Coaster is a slightly smaller version of the previous coaster. Standing at 43 meters tall, the cars reach speeds of up to 86 kilometres per hour.
  • However, my favourite ride is Sky Fighter, a carousel with a long arm ending in several seats stylized like old fighter planes. It’s a cool feeling to soar with your legs dangling at over 20 meters high.
  • Another cool ride is Galeon, a long seat that rotates on large wheels, nestled within the ruins of an ancient city. As the wheels turn, the beam with people descends, and water sprays around to the sounds of jungle noises. I’ve seen people ride this attraction multiple times in a row.

These are just a few attractions in this part of the park. In addition to them, there are dozens of carousels and other attractions such as 5D cinema or virtual reality adventures.

Aqua Land water world

Water amusement in The Land of Legends

Water attractions are favourites for most children, and even adults don’t shy away from them. For example, I love extreme water slides and poolside bars.

If you’re also a fan of water fun, you’ll feel like you’re in paradise in this Turkish amusement park. There are truly high and fast water slides, a dolphin pool, pools with artificial waves, diving in a special suit in a pool full of sharks, and beaches with white, flour-like sand. Of course, there are also bars and restaurants where you can relax.

I suggest dedicating a whole day, or even two, to the water park.

Tropical Lagoon is another water park

Water amusement park for children in The Land of Legends

The tropical lagoon is another aquatic paradise, different from the one described above in that it is more suitable for the youngest visitors. Here you’ll find plenty of charming beaches and shallow, warm waters of rivers. Additionally, in this part of the park, you’ll find numerous playgrounds and areas for playing beach games.

Of course, there are water slides, carousels, and a pool with an artificial wave. A cool attraction is a journey down the stream, where the lazy current pushes inflatable boats around the entire lagoon. There’s one interesting moment when you enter underground caves stylized as a pirate hideout. It’s a lot of fun, I assume especially for kids, truly unforgettable.

The parts of the amusement park on the Turkish Riviera that I’ve mentioned above are just a fraction of what’s prepared for fun-seeking tourists. For more, you’ll have to visit this incredible place yourself and then tell us about it.

The Land of Legends bars, restaurants, and snack places

Ice cream and sweets snacks

Throughout the entire park, you’ll find dozens of various bars, restaurants, cafés, and food stalls. Some of them are mobile, appearing here and there, which is fun for children as they run around trying to spot their favourite sweets or ice creams.

  • One cool spot is Choco Choco, a candy bar with chocolate in various forms. You can order hot chocolate or cold chocolate with floating toppings. Additionally, there are drinks with strange combinations, like chocolate tea or orangeade flavoured with chocolate truffles.
  • Ice Point, as you might guess, is an ice cream parlour. I had the best ice cream of my life here, and I’m an ice cream enthusiast, so that’s probably the best recommendation.
  • If you like coffee, make sure to find Café Vista, a small café by the pool where you can get a forceful and tasty coffee.
  • Slizzling Hot Gogs is a food stall with Mexican cuisine worth visiting after indulging in sweets. They serve traditional Mexican dishes, optionally spicy.
The Land of Legends snacks and sweets

Believe me, you won’t be able to eat everything you encounter on your journey through The Land of Legends.

The Land of Legends and Shopping Avenue a huge shopping avenue

The Land of Legends shopping

In this part of the park, you’ll have the opportunity to buy literally everything, well, maybe almost everything. As you stroll through this vast shopping passage, akin to a sizable town, you’ll see some of the most recognizable brands in the world. I’m talking about shops and boutiques offering clothes from famous designers, electronics, all sorts of gadgets, and toys.

All of them offer original goods, unlike those you’ll find at Turkish bazaars, for example, the famous bazaar in Manavgat near the popular city of Side. Moreover, from what I observed, there are often significant discounts and deals when you buy more items. Friends have praised the prices of expensive perfumes, which could cost even half as much as those bought in Europe.

Apart from the shops, there are various restaurants and bars, as well as playgrounds and recreational areas. A significant attraction is the river flowing through the entire passage, where electrically powered gondolas and boats glide, serving as taxis. In other areas, there are squares and parks where numerous concerts and performances by musical bands take place. For the youngest visitors, meetings with legendary characters and magic shows are organized.

At the main entrance to The Land of Legends, you’ll find a giant fountain connected to the river flowing through the Shopping Avenue. This fountain serves as a stage for a fantastic show of light, water, and music. The spectacle begins at dusk and lasts for several tens of minutes. It looks incredible, and it’s worth finding a comfortable spot near the water beforehand, where the view and experience are the greatest.

The entire shopping town is open all night, so even when the shops close, you can stroll amidst the glow of lights and neon signs.

The Land of Legends practical information

  • Remember that the amusement park is located on the Turkish Riviera, where the sun shines for most of the year. Therefore, you should dress appropriately for the climate and remember to protect your skin from the sun’s rays. This is especially important for children who constantly run around the park regardless of the time of day. Reportedly, dozens of people with sunstroke visit the medical center every day.
  • If you forget to pack anything, such as swimsuits or flip-flops, don’t worry; there are places throughout the park where you can shop.
  • You should not bring food or drinks into the park and consume only what is purchased on-site.
  • During the validity period of your ticket, you can enter and exit the park as often as you like. This is significant because if you’re staying in a hotel outside the complex, you can take breaks and come back again.
  • There is parking for over 1300 cars on-site, and it’s free for customers.
  • Keep in mind that if you encounter bad weather that prevents you from enjoying the park’s attractions, The Land of Legends does not refund ticket costs!
  • There are numerous facilities for wheelchair users throughout the park.
  • All sunbeds and relaxation areas on the park’s beaches are free.
  • The park has its own emergency services and continuous medical care in case of any health issues for its guests.
  • Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park.
  • You are not allowed to bring your sunbeds, umbrellas, coolers, or other equipment onto the park grounds. Everything you need can be found in the park, and if you lack any necessary equipment, just ask a member of staff, I’m sure they’ll be helpful.
  • Photography and filming are allowed in the park, except in areas marked as no recording zones. This primarily concerns water areas where many people are in swimwear. Remember to be cautious when taking photos. People from various cultures visit the park, and some of them are very strict about their privacy. A simple mistake can ruin a wonderful holiday.
  • Since Turkey and the park’s foreign guests have different cultural norms from ours, it’s worth adhering to basic social norms to avoid conflict and unnecessary problems.
